Ceramic Coating
A Porsche 911 GT3 is a purpose-built track car that also lives on the street — and GT Silver Metallic is one of the most demanding colors to maintain because the metallic flake shows every swirl and contamination particle. This car came to us with three years of accumulated swirl marks from improper washing and a dull, flat appearance that was doing the color no justice. We performed a three-stage paint correction — the most thorough correction process we offer — to remove every swirl, scratch, and surface imperfection before applying FEYNLAB Ceramic Ultra. Three-stage correction involves a heavy cutting stage, a medium refining stage, and a final finishing stage, with each panel inspected under LED lighting between stages. After correction, the GT Silver Metallic had a depth and metallic sparkle that the owner said he'd never seen on the car before. FEYNLAB Ceramic Ultra was then applied to lock in that corrected finish for 5+ years. The coating provides 9H hardness, UV protection, chemical resistance, and hydrophobic properties that make the car dramatically easier to maintain.
The Process
Full Decontamination
Wash, clay bar, iron remover, and tar remover. Three years of contamination needed to be fully removed before any polishing could begin.
Stage 1 — Heavy Cutting
Heavy cutting compound to remove the deepest scratches and swirl marks. This stage is aggressive — it removes a thin layer of clear coat to eliminate the damage.
Stage 2 — Medium Refining
Medium polish to refine the finish after the cutting stage. Removes micro-marring from Stage 1 and begins to reveal the true depth of the metallic paint.
Stage 3 — Final Finishing
Fine finishing polish to maximize gloss and clarity. After this stage, the paint is inspected under LED lighting from every angle to confirm all defects are removed.
FEYNLAB Ceramic Ultra Application
Coating applied after IPA wipe-down. Each panel coated individually, allowed to flash, then leveled. 24-hour cure in our controlled bay before delivery.
