El Proceso
ADAS Camera Mapping
Before any film is cut, we map the locations of all ADAS cameras and sensors on the Model Y. XPEL XR Plus is verified non-metallic and ADAS-safe, but precise installation around camera zones is critical.
Glass Cleaning & Prep
All glass surfaces are cleaned with ammonia-free solution, scraped with a new razor blade, and wiped with IPA. Any contamination under ceramic film is visible and permanent.
Panoramic Roof Section
The panoramic roof is the most complex section — it's a single large piece of glass with a slight curve. The film is applied in one piece, wet, and squeegeed from center outward to eliminate all moisture.
Side & Rear Glass
Each side window is cut to template, applied, and heat-shrunk to conform to the glass curvature. Rear glass on the Model Y has a significant curve that requires careful heat-shrinking.
Cure & Delivery
The car sits in our bay for 30 minutes post-install before delivery. We walk the owner through the 3-day cure period — no rolling windows down, no car washes.

Texas heat is brutal — College Station averages 96°F+ in summer with intense solar radiation. The Model Y's panoramic roof is essentially a greenhouse panel. Ceramic tint is the single most impactful upgrade you can make for cabin comfort and AC efficiency. It also protects the interior from UV degradation — leather, plastic, and electronics all degrade faster under UV exposure.
