Protection Package
The Tesla Cybertruck is unlike any vehicle we've worked on — and protecting it requires a completely different approach than a conventional car. The stainless steel exoskeleton is both the Cybertruck's most distinctive feature and its most vulnerable surface. Stainless steel scratches easily, shows fingerprints constantly, and cannot be repainted if damaged. The only real protection is PPF. We installed a complete protection package on this 2024 Cybertruck: XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF on all body panels to protect the stainless steel surface, plus XPEL XR Plus ceramic tint on all glass. The PPF installation on the Cybertruck is one of the most technically demanding jobs we do — the flat, angular geometry means every seam is visible, every edge is exposed, and there's nowhere to hide imperfect work. Every panel was computer-plotted, hand-trimmed, and heat-formed to the Cybertruck's geometry. The ceramic tint was installed with careful attention to the ADAS cameras and sensors integrated throughout the glass. The result is a Cybertruck that's protected from every angle.
The Process
Stainless Steel Assessment
The stainless steel surface was inspected for any existing scratches or surface oxidation. Light surface prep was performed to ensure optimal PPF adhesion to the stainless substrate.
PPF Panel Mapping
Every panel of the Cybertruck was mapped and custom templates were generated. The flat geometry means seam placement is critical — every seam is visible on a flat surface.
Full Body PPF Installation
XPEL Ultimate Plus applied panel by panel over three days. The flat panels require precise squeegee technique — any trapped moisture or air is immediately visible.
ADAS Camera Mapping for Tint
Before any tint was cut, all ADAS camera and sensor locations were mapped. The Cybertruck has cameras integrated throughout the glass and pillars.
Ceramic Tint Installation
XPEL XR Plus ceramic film installed on all glass. Non-metallic construction ensures zero interference with the Cybertruck's ADAS, GPS, and cellular systems.
Why It Matters
The Cybertruck's stainless steel body cannot be repainted — ever. A scratch or chip on the stainless is permanent without PPF. The film provides a sacrificial layer that absorbs damage and self-heals minor scratches. The ceramic tint addresses the Cybertruck's significant glass area, which lets in enormous amounts of heat without protection. Together, these two products provide complete protection for a vehicle that cannot be conventionally repaired.
